Giporlos, Eastern Samar – In connection with the continuing activities of the 2024 Community-Based Monitoring System, PSA Eastern Samar represented by Information System Analyst II Nory James L. Apura convened with the officials and stakeholders of the Local Government Unit of Giporlos for the Presentation of Preliminary Results held at the Municipal Hall of Giporlos on 31 July 2025.

This activity is part of the Philippine Statistics Authority’s (PSA) ongoing commitment to delivering relevant, timely, and reliable statistics in support of evidence-based policymaking and effective local governance. It aims to provide an overview of the key performance indicators from the recently

concluded CBMS data collection, particularly those related to poverty reduction, health, and access to basic services.

Also in attendance were members of the Sangguniang Bayan, including Hon. Lina S. Go, who delivered the welcome remarks. In her message, she emphasized that the Community-Based Monitoring System (CBMS) is not merely a tool for data collection, but a vital instrument that provides a comprehensive picture of the living conditions, needs, and challenges faced by constituents at the barangay level. She underscored that this initiative marks the first step in transforming raw data into informed, strategic policies that aim to uplift communities.

Meanwhile, in her closing message, Jennelyn G. Genilo, Executive Secretary and PESO Manager, highlighted that CBMS data are more than just numbers—they serve as an essential tool that guides local government decisions, aligns development priorities, and sharpens the focus on inclusive and evidence-based programs.
