
In line with the series of presentations on the preliminary results of the 2024 Community-Based Monitoring System (CBMS), personnel from the Philippine Statistics Authority (PSA) Eastern Samar met with officials and stakeholders of the Local Government Unit (LGU) of Balangkayan on the morning of 17 July 2025. The activity, held at the Sangguniang Bayan Session Hall in the Municipal Hall of Balangkayan, was attended by representatives from various departments and offices of the municipality.
Also present during the event was Vice Mayor Edith Anne O. Contado, who warmly welcomed the PSA team and the other participants. In her message, she emphasized the significance of the data collected through
the CBMS in formulating responsive policies, as it serves as a basis for identifying the current needs of the community as it includes indicators on household population, poverty status, education and access to basic services.
The presentation of the initial key findings of the 2024 CBMS was led by Senior Statistical Specialist and POPCEN-CBMS Focal Person Randy G. Ador, accompanied by Statistical Analyst Grace Anne L. Sesio and COSW Jethelyn Jo T. Plata. Afterwards, they also discussed the upcoming CBMS activities and outlined the necessary requirements for the forthcoming Data Turnover Ceremony.
