General Macarthur, Eastern Samar – On 08 August 2025, the Philippine Statistics Authority (PSA) Eastern Samar, represented by Senior Statistical Specialist Randy G. Ador and Statistical Analyst – COSW Andrea Michelle B. Arre, presented the preliminary results of the 2024 Community-Based Monitoring System (CBMS) to the officials and personnel of the Local Government Unit (LGU) of General Macarthur.

The activity was held at the ABC Building of the General Macarthur Municipal Hall, providing local stakeholders with valuable insights into the

current socio-economic conditions of their communities based on CBMS data. It was attended by key representatives from the Sangguniang Bayan, Association of Barangay Captains (ABC), Municipal Planning and Development Office (MPDO), Human Resource and Management Office (HRMO), Municipal Social Welfare and Development Office (MSWDO), and the Municipal Civil Registrar Office.

Participants were provided with an overview of disaggregated data reflecting household access to electricity, clean fuel and technology, internet connectivity, and safety within the municipality. They were also briefed on upcoming CBMS-related activities, particularly the Data Turnover Ceremony. The presentation concluded with a short open forum, allowing LGU personnel to seek clarifications as well as offer their insights and suggestions.

To formally close the event, Honorable Mayor Joel D. Baldo expressed his gratitude to the Philippine Statistics Authority – Eastern Samar for their invaluable efforts in delivering the preliminary results of the CBMS. He also affirmed the LGU’s commitment to effectively utilize the data to enhance their reach and provide better support to constituents in need.
