Salcedo, Eastern Samar – The National Identification (NID) Registration Team actively participated in the Barangay Registration Assistance Project (BRAP) mobile registration activity spearheaded by the Municipal Civil Registrar of Salcedo, Mrs. Nora E. Abunales. The outreach was conducted on July 18 in Brgy. Lusod, July 22 in Brgy. Carapdapan, July 23 in Brgy. Cantomoja, and July 24 in Brgy. Jagnaya—barangays in the interior parts of Salcedo, outside the municipal proper.

The NID team extended its services to ensure that unregistered individuals, particularly those who have not yet enrolled in the National Identification System (NID), were able to process their registration closer to home. Priority was placed on registering children under five years old, an important step in securing their future access to government services and identity-based transactions. The BRAP initiative, prioritizing individuals who have not yet been issued a Certificate of Live Birth. The mobile registration team provided on-site support to ensure easier access to civil registration services for residents in these communities.

This joint effort between the LCRO and the National ID Registration Team underscores the local government’s commitment to providing inclusive and accessible public services especially to residents of interior barangays with limited access to centralized registration. The National ID Team encourages all Filipinos, especially those from remote and underserved areas, to take advantage of similar registration drives. Possession of a national ID empowers individuals and enhances their access to public and private services.
