
Group photo opportunity with trainers, field personnel, office-based and selected PSA personnel during the Provincial Level Training on Geotagging of Service Facilities, Government Projects and Building Constructions
Borongan City, Eastern Samar – The Philippine Statistics Authority (PSA) Eastern Samar Provincial Statistical Office successfully conducted a four-day Provincial Level Training for the 2024 POPCEN-CBMS Geotagging of Service Facilities, Government Projects, and Listing of Building Constructions from February 24 to 27, 2025.
The trainers for the four-day session were Senior Statistical Specialist (SrSS) Randy G. Ador, Statistical Specialist II Ma. Nancy A. Coles, and Information System Analyst II Nory James L. Apura. The training equipped twelve (12) Map Data Collectors, three (3) Team Supervisors, five (5) Map Data Processors, three (3) Map Data Reviewers, and PSA personnel with the necessary skills and knowledge to efficiently carry out significant data collection and geotagging procedures.
The objective of the training was to capacitate field and data processing personnel with the skills needed for map generation, geotagging, and data processing of service facilities, government projects, and building construction activities.
PSA Eastern Samar Senior Statistical Specialist (SrSS) Randy G. Ador emphasized that the geotagging of Service Facilities and Government Projects (SFGP) aims to capture and collect accurate and timely local-level information on households/housing units, service facilities, and government projects. Additionally, Statistical Specialist II Ma. Nancy A. Coles highlighted that the Listing of Building Constructions will be conducted simultaneously with the geotagging of SFGP.
Moreover, on the last day of the training, a field practice was conducted in Brgy. Calingatngan, Borongan City to assess the data collection procedures and materials, analyze the subsequent results, and identify any issues or concerns that may arise during data collection.
The Geotagging of SFGP is scheduled to kick off on March 3, 2025.
