The Philippine Statistics Authority (PSA) Biliran conducted a Coordination Meeting with the Local Government Unit (LGU) of Culaba on 26 March 2025 on National ID Authentication Services Integration as part of its ongoing campaign to improve services on identity verification at the municipal level. The meeting was held at the Municipal Function Hall and attended by some key officials from both PSA and LGU Culaba.
In her message, Registration Officer (RO) III Marife R. Molon of PSA Regional Statistical Services Office 8 (RSSO 8) gave her appreciation to the presence of the LGU Culaba staff in the coordination meeting. The coordination meeting will provide a platform to address questions, share insights, and explore the broader implications of National ID System and National ID Authentication Services, ensuring that relying parties, specifically the government sectors, are well informed and prepared to leverage the full potential of this integration initiative.
The presentation on the National ID Acceptance was delivered by Information Officer I Patricia Ann D. Pedrosa while the overview on the National ID Authentication Services was presented by RO II Eralaine A. Daño. Moreover, LGU boarding requirements and demonstration of the system were conducted by Use Case Personnel from Government Services and Use Case Division (GSUCD) via video conferencing platform which are necessary for integrating the authentication services into LGU operations.
In an open forum, speakers addressed the questions asked by attendees during the meeting, helping them better understand the updates and issues related to National ID and its authentication services. During the meeting, the LGU shared that their office do not yet have a standalone system necessary to integrate the National ID authentication services.
The National ID Authentication Services is designed to securely verify the identity of individuals using their demographic and biometric details. These services provide a way for government sectors to confirm that a person is who they claim to be, typically by matching the information provided via National ID eVerify platform.
