01 February 2024 – NAVAL, BILIRAN. The Philippine Statistics Authority (PSA) - Biliran Provincial Statistical Office in partnership with the Association of Biliran Civil Registry Personnel (ABCRP) officially launched the 34th Civil Registration Month (CRM) Celebration with the theme “CRVS: The Future of Seamless Services.”
The annual celebration of the CRM is pursuant to Presidential Proclamation No. 682 “Declaring the month of February of every year as the Civil Registration Month.” The CRM celebration aims to (1) remind the citizens of their duty to register acts and events concerning status of persons; and (2) instill nationwide awareness and appreciation of the legal, administrative, and statistical values of civil registry documents.
This year’s 34th CRM Launching Ceremony was hosted by the Local Government Unit of Naval thru the leadership of Mayor Gretchen Stephanie M. Espina. One of the main activities in this ceremony was the awarding of Certificate of Live Births (COLBs) printed in Security Paper (SecPa) to Birth Registration Assistance Project (BRAP) Beneficiaries in the municipality of Naval. Also, the Local Civil Registry Office of Naval conducted BRAP mobile registration to register individuals with no certificate of live birth.
Moreover, PSA RSSO 08 Regional Director Wilma A. Perante briefed the BRAP beneficiaries on the salient features of the Republic Act 11909 or the “Permanent Validity of the Certificates of Live Birth, Death, and Marriage Act.” This is one of the office’s advocacies in making sure that civil registration related laws and guidelines will be closer to the Filipino people. Additionally, Registration Officer III Marife R. Molon presented updates on the Philippine Identification System (PhilSys) specially on the additional features that will be unveiled and will be made available for the public this year such as the registration of the population below 5 years old and the correction of entries in the demographic information of the registered persons in the PhilSys.
Biliranons are encouraged to visit the official Facebook Page of PSA Biliran for information regarding activities, contests and services that will be conducted or offered in celebration of the 34th CRM.
The PSA enjoins all agencies and instrumentalities of the National Government and Local Government Units, Government Owned and Controlled Corporations, and the general public to show support by hanging streamers and by participating in our activities.
