The Philippine Statistics Authority Regional Statistical Services Office VIII (PSA RSSO 8) continues its information awareness campaign on the Acceptance of PhilIDs and ePhilIDs as valid proof of identity in all transactions. During the 01 May 2024 - Labor Day Job Fair and Kadiwa ng Pangulo organized by the Department of Labor and Employment Regional Office No. VIII (DOLE RO8), Ms. Marifer R. Molon, PSA RSSO 08 Registration Officer III and PhilSys Regional Focal Person led another information awareness campaign among an estimated 4,000 audience coming from various regional line agencies of the government, relying parties, business owners, jobseekers and beneficiaries of different programs of DOLE RO8.  Ms. Molon shared the features of the PhilIDs and ePhilIDs as both are designed to be used in all transactions in order to allow registered individuals to immediately enjoy the benefits of PhilSys, such as better access to employment, financial, and social protection services.

The government and private sectors were also reminded of the provisions of RA 11055 or the PhilSys Act pertaining to the penalties related to non-acceptance of PhilSys IDs as a sufficient valid proof of identity, without sufficient or just cause, is punishable with a fine of PhP500,000. The general public are also encouraged to be more vigilant in reporting those agencies or private sectors who will do such act as this will be handled with great deal of concern by the Fraud and Management Division (FMD) of PSA.
