30 July 2025 – Balangiga, Eastern Samar – The Philippine Statistics Authority (PSA) Eastern Samar continued its rollout of the Preliminary Results of the 2024 Community-Based Monitoring System (CBMS) to Local Government Units (LGUs) within the province. On 30 July 2025, Information System Analyst II Mr. Nory James L. Apura presented the preliminary findings to the Municipality of Balangiga, making it the 10th among the 23 LGUs in Eastern Samar to receive the data.
The presentation focused on indicators related to access to basic services, including electricity, clean cooking fuel, and sanitation facilities, among others. The CBMS provides essential data to guide LGUs in assessing development gaps and aligning their local policies with the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs).
In attendance were Municipal Vice Mayor Honorable Arnel Calisay, members of the Sangguniang Bayan, and other key municipal officials. The LGU representatives actively engaged in the discussion, offering valuable feedback and affirming the relevance and reliability of the data presented.
Furthermore, PSA Eastern Samar provided an overview of upcoming activities and reminded the LGU of the documentary requirements necessary for the official turnover of the 2024 Population Census and CBMS results.
