The Philippine Statistics Authority (PSA) Eastern Samar Provincial Office successfully conducted the Third Level Training for the July 2025 Labor Force Survey (LFS) and the 2025 Family Income and Expenditure Survey (FIES) Visit 1 from 30 June to 06 July 2025 at Melinda’s Resort and Restaurant, Borongan City.
The Labor Force Survey (LFS) is a nationwide survey on households that focuses on labor market trends, such as employment, unemployment, and labor force participation, while the Family Income and Expenditure Survey (FIES) provides detailed insights into family’s financial well-being, including income levels, income sources, and spending patterns. Together, these surveys offer a comprehensive understanding of a nation's socio-economic conditions, serving as critical tools for informing policy decisions related to economic development, poverty reduction, and social welfare programs.
To ensure the successful implementation of these surveys, a seven-day learning session was undertaken, where comprehensive discussions were carried out on survey concepts, operational procedures, data collection protocols, and the proper use of digital tools to be utilized in the upcoming field operation. This aimed to equip the statistical researchers with the necessary knowledge and skills before performing their duties in their assigned enumeration areas.
In addition, participants were actively engaged throughout the entire duration of the training. They were encouraged to ask questions, share their experiences, and offer suggestions on how to address potential challenges they might encounter in their work.
