The Philippine Statistics Authority (PSA) – Biliran conducted a 2024 Census of Population and Community-Based Monitoring System (POPCEN-CBMS) Roadshow and Bandilyo on 22 July around all the municipalities in Biliran Province except for the island Municipality of Maripipi. The roadshow started in the Municipality of Almeria, then proceeded to the municipalities of Kawayan, Culaba, Caibiran, Cabucgayan, Biliran and ended in the Municipality of Naval.

The Roadshow and Bandilyo include the distribution of 2024 POPCEN-CBMS primers and flyers; posting of banners to the Local Government Units (LGUs) headquarters; and playing of bandilyo audio files for increased public awareness and to encourage support to the 2024 POPCEN-CBMS. Moreover, the LGUs join the campaign by hanging the 2024 POPCEN-CBMS banner with the PSA personnel. The LGUs role is instrumental to the success of this undertaking as they continue to guide and provide for the needs of the 2024 POPCEN-CBMS Teams.

The campaign signifies the commitment of stakeholders in Biliran Province as community partners in supporting the evidence-based undertaking and ensuring the accuracy and completeness of the 2024 POPCEN-CBMS data collection process.

By virtue of Presidential Proclamation No. 627, issued by President Ferdinand R. Marcos Jr. declaring July 2024 as “National Census and Community- Based Monitoring System Month”, PSA Biliran hereby encourages all citizens and residents of the province to cooperate with the census enumerators and supervisors in the conduct of the 2024 POPCEN-CBMS and provide truthful and complete information.
