BORONGAN CITY — The Eastern Samar Provincial Statistics Committee (PSC) held its 2025 Second Quarter Meeting on 09 May 2025 at the 4th Floor Training Room of PSA Eastern Samar Office. The said meeting was attended by eighteen (18) representatives from various PSC member-agencies and presided over by Chief Statistical Specialist and PSC Vice-Chairperson Ronnie A. Bajado.
One of the main highlights of the session was the presentation by Dionesa Marie A. Apura, representative of the Department of the Interior and Local Government (DILG). She shared statistical data on the performance of Local Government Units (LGUs) in Eastern Samar, drawn from various functionality assessments. Her discussion covered key trends, strengths, and existing gaps in local governance and functionality across the province. To conclude, she presented the DILG’s recommended strategic actions aimed at helping LGUs sustain and enhance their performance in future assessments.
Furthermore, the Committee approved and adopted ten (10) significant resolutions. These resolutions were intended to adopt the 2025 Policy Agenda of PSC Eastern Samar, enjoin support of LGUs and other stakeholders for the conduct of the different surveys to be conducted by the Philippine Statistics Authority, and request for the Sangguniang Panlalawigan (SP) to enact an ordinance to institutionalize the compilation of Provincial Product Accounts in addition to the resolution requesting for the Governor to Issue an Executive Order to enjoining all stakeholders to provide the needed data for the said project.
The success of this convening underscored the unwavering commitment of the Provincial Statistics Committee (PSC) as the province’s primary policymaking body on statistical matters, particularly through collaborative efforts that promote data-driven and evidence-based decision-making.
