
24 July 2025 – Cabucgayan, Biliran. As part of its ongoing province- wide dissemination efforts, the Philippine Statistics Authority (PSA) – Biliran presented the preliminary results of the 2024 Community-Based Monitoring System (CBMS) to the Local Government Unit (LGU) of Cabucgayan. The activity, held at the municipal hall, was facilitated by Registration Officer I Virgilio L. Cinco, Jr., who guided attendees through the highlights of the CBMS data and its relevance to local development planning.
The presentation focused on key indicators aligned with the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), including access to electricity, basic sanitation, housing materials, internet connectivity, and employment. PSA also provided explanations on data definitions and methodologies, ensuring that local officials could accurately interpret and utilize the findings.
LGU Cabucgayan welcomed the results, expressing appreciation for the noted improvements in several indicators compared to the previous CBMS round. Local officials recognized these positive changes as signs of progress, while also acknowledging that certain sectors still require focused interventions.
Throughout the session, LGU representatives demonstrated strong engagement by raising insightful questions and providing constructive feedback. Their active participation underscored the municipality’s dedication to evidence-based governance and its intent to use CBMS data as a foundation for designing more responsive and inclusive programs.
The presentation not only served as a venue for data validation but also reaffirmed Cabucgayan’s commitment to utilizing reliable, community-level statistics to guide planning and resource allocation in the years ahead.
