FARMGATE PRICES OF CEREALS

Palay other variety, dry recorded an average farmgate price of Php 17.49 per kilogram during the first quarter of 2025. This figure is lower by 2.13 percent compared to its average farmgate price of Php 17.87 per kilogram during the same quarter in 2024. Meanwhile, corngrain white, matured had no recorded average farmgate price during the first quarter of 2025 but reported an average farmgate price of Php 31.00 per kilogram during the first quarter of 2024. (Figure 1 and Table 1)

 

FARMGATE PRICES OF ROOTCROPS

Average farmgate prices for rootcrops generally increased in the province during the first quarter of 2025. Among the rootcrops, Gabi Cebu, for ginataan recorded the highest increase by 41.84 percent from Php 28.20 per kilogram during the first quarter of 2024 to Php 40.00 per kilogram during the first quarter of 2025. Similarly, sweet potato and cassava, fresh tubers for food increased by 32.29 percent and 19.05 percent, respectively. The average farmgate prices of sweet potato and cassava, fresh tubers for food was recorded at Php 41.67 per kilogram and Php 35.00 per kilogram during the first quarter of 2025 from their average farmgate prices of Php 31.50 per kilogram and Php 29.40 per kilogram in the same quarter of 2024, respectively. (Figure 2 and Table 1)

 

FARMGATE PRICES OF BEANS AND LEGUMES

Mongo, green labo and stringbeans recorded average farmgate prices of Php 62.80 per kilogram and Php 58.07 per kilogram, respectively, during the first quarter in 2024. However, there was no recorded average farmgate prices for both commodities for the same quarter in 2025. (Figure 3 and Table 1)

 

FARMGATE PRICES OF CONDIMENTS

The average farmgate price of Ginger Hawaiian decreased by 8.30 percent, from Php 45.80 per kilogram in the first quarter of 2024 to Php 42.00 per kilogram in the first quarter of 2025.

Pepper hot, red labuyo recorded an average farmgate prices of Php 60.00 per kilogram for the same quarter in 2024 and 2025.

Onion leaves recorded an average farmgate price of Php 60.00 per kilogram in the first quarter of 2025; however, there was no recorded average farmgate price for this condiment in the first quarter of 2024.

Pepper bell, red and green recorded an average farmgate price of Php 75.00 per kilogram in the first quarter of 2024. However, it has no reported average farmgate price of this condiment in the first quarter of 2025. (Figure 4 and Table 1)

 

FARMGATE PRICES OF FRUIT VEGETABLES

The following fruit vegetables observed an increase in its average farmgate prices in the first quarter of 2025 from its average farmgate prices in the first quarter of 2024:

a. Cucumber at Php 60.00 per kilogram from Php 37.75 per kilogram;

b. Squash at Php 35.00 per kilogram from Php 22.20 per kilogram; and

c. Tomato at Php 80.00 per kilogram from Php 48.95 per kilogram.

In contrast, lower average farmgate price was recorded for ampalaya by 31.43 percent from Php 72.92 per kilogram in the first quarter of 2024 to Php 50.00 per kilogram in the first quarter of 2025.

Upo or bottle gourd recorded an average farmgate price of Php 35.00 per kilogram in the first quarter of 2025 with no reported average farmgate price in the first quarter of 2024.

Meanwhile, the eggplant long, purple; okra; and patola recorded an average farmgate prices of Php 55.23 per kilogram, Php 36.70 per kilogram, and Php 40.00 per kilogram during the first quarter of 2024. All of these commodities had no reported average farmgate prices in the same quarter of 2025. (Figure 5 and Table 1)

 

FARMGATE PRICES OF LEAFY VEGETABLES

Average farmgate price of pechay native decreased by 3.47 percent from its average farmgate price of Php 51.80 per kilogram in the first quarter of 2024 to Php 50.00 per kilogram in the first quarter of 2025.

Meanwhile, the alugbati, kangkong, and lettuce recorded an average farmgate prices of Php 45.45 per kilogram, Php 44.80 per kilogram, and Php 250.00 per kilogram during the first quarter of 2024. All of these commodities had no reported average farmgate prices in the same quarter of 2025. (Figure 6 and Table 1)

 

FARMGATE PRICES OF FRUITS

In the first quarter of 2025, the following fruits recorded a decrease in its average farmgate prices compared to the average farmgate prices in the first quarter of 2024:

a. Banana Latundan, green at Php 21.05 per kilogram from Php 21.17 per kilogram;

b. Calamansi at Php 51.17 per kilogram from Php 58.00 per kilogram;

c. Guyabano at Php 40.00 per kilogram from Php 50.00 per kilogram; and

d. Jackfruit, ripe at Php 55.10 per kilogram from Php 39.96 per kilogram.

In contrast, Banana Saba, green recorded increase in its average farmgate price, rising to Php 23.78 per kilogram in the first quarter of 2025 from Php 23.21 per kilogram in the same quarter in 2024.

The following fruits recorded average farmgate prices in the first quarter of 2025 but had no reported average farmgate prices in the first quarter of 2024:

a. Banana Lakatan, green at Php 40.00 per kilogram;

b. Papaya Hawaiian at Php 20.00 per kilogram; and

c. Starapple at Php 39.61 per kilogram.

On the other hand, Mango Indian, green and Breadfruit recorded average farmgate prices of Php 28.32 per kilogram and Php Php 15.00 per kilogram, respectively, during the first quarter of 2024. However, there were no reported average farmgate prices for these fruits in the same quarter of 2025. (Figure 7 and Table 1)

FARMGATE PRICES OF COMMERCIAL CROPS

Coconut matured reported the highest increase in its average farmgate price among commercial crops during the first quarter of 2025, rising by 135.40 percent from Php 5.31 per kilogram during the first quarter of 2024 to Php 12.50 per kilogram during the same quarter in 2025.

Moreover, copra corriente and coconut green, young ‘buko’ recorded increased average farmgate prices by 106.67 percent and 89.75 percent, respectively.

Similarly, higher average farmgate prices were recorded for abaca and cacao, dry beans increasing by 26.90 percent and 13.71 percent, respectively. (Figure 8 and Table 1)

 

FARMGATE PRICES OF LIVESTOCK AND POULTRY: HOUSEHOLD

Average farmgate price of Carabao for Slaughter from household increased by 11.11 percent from Php 150.00 per kilogram of liveweight during the first quarter of 2024 to Php 166.67 per kilogram of liveweight during the first quarter of 2025. Average farmgate price of chicken native/improved from household also increased by 4.17 percent from Php 200.00 per kilogram of liveweight to Php 208.33 per kilogram of liveweight. Moreover, duck egg from household recorded an increase in its average farmgate price by 16.67 percent from Php 6.00 per egg to Php 7.00 per egg.

Chicken layer and chicken egg, native recorded an average farmgate prices of Php 150.00 per kilogram of liveweight and Php 10.00 per egg, respectively, during the first quarter of 2025. However, there were no reported average farmgate prices for these commodities in the same quarter in 2024.

Chicken broiler from household recorded an average farmgate price of Php 150.00 per kilogram of liveweight in the first quarter of 2024 with no reported average farmgate price in the same quarter in 2025.

Meanwhile, the average farmgate prices of the following livestock and poultry products in the first quarter of 2025 retained their average farmgate prices in the first quarter of 2024:

a. Cattle for slaughter at Php 250.00 per kilogram of liveweight;

b. Goat for slaughter at Php 170.00 per kilogram of liveweight;

c. Hogs for slaughter at Php 185.00 per kilogram of liveweight; and

d. Duck at Php 200.00 per kilogram of liveweight. (Figure 9 and Table 1)

 

 

FARMGATE PRICES OF LIVESTOCK AND POULTRY: ESTABLISHMENT

Among the livestock and poultry from establishment, chicken layer recorded the highest increase of 34.62 percent from its average farmgate price of Php 130.00 per kilogram of liveweight in the first quarter of 2024 to Php 175.00 per kilogram of liveweight in the first quarter of 2025. Moreover, hog for slaughter and chicken egg (layer) increased by 13.59 percent and 2.56 percent, respectively. Their average farmgate prices rose from Php 164.33 per kilogram of liveweight and Php 7.81 per egg in the first quarter of 2024 to Php 186.67 per kilogram of liveweight and Php 8.01 per egg in the first quarter of 2025, respectively.

In contrast, the following livestock and poultry from establishment recorded lower average farmgate prices in the first quarter of 2025 compared with the first quarter of 2024:

a. Gamefowl at Php 5,500.00 per bird from Php 6,500.00 per bird;

b. Duck at Php 216.67 per kilogram of liveweight from Php 250.00 per kilogram of liveweight; and

c. Duck egg at Php 7.75 per egg from Php 8.00 per egg.

Meanwhile, goat for slaughter recorded an average farmgate price of Php 180.00 per kilogram of liveweight in in the first quarter of 2025, with no reported average farmgate price for the same quarter in 2024. (Figure 10 and Table 1)

 

 

FARMGATE PRICES OF FISHERIES

The top species that recorded increase in its average farmgate prices in the fisheries sector during the first quarter of 2025 compared with the first quarter of 2024 were the following:

a. Bali sardinella (Tamban) at Php 52.00 per kilogram, up by 63.11 percent from Php 31.88 per kilogram;

b. Siganid (Samaral) at Php 165.00 per kilogram, up by 60.63 percent from Php 102.72 per kilogram;

c. Indo-Pacific mackerel (Hasa-hasa) at Php 165.69 per kilogram, up by 57.89 percent from Php 104.94 per kilogram;

d. Crevalle (Salay-salay) at Php 172.42 per kilogram, up by 54.89 percent from Php 111.32 per kilogram;

e. Mudfish at Php 150.00 per kilogram, up by 50.00 percent from Php 100.00 per kilogram.

Meanwhile, the bottom species that recorded the largest drop in its average farmgate prices during the first quarter of 2025 compared with the first quarter of 2024 were the following:

a. Anchovies (Dilis) at Php 46.67 per kilogram, down by 70.70 percent from Php 159.28 per kilogram;

b. Hairtail (Espada) at Php 87.97 per kilogram, down by 12.03 from Php 100.00 per kilogram;

c. Porgies (Pargo) at Php 194.27 per kilogram, down by 10.77 percent from Php 217.71 per kilogram;

d. Squid (Pusit) at Php 216.28 per kilogram, down by 5.15 percent from Php 228.02 per kilogram; and

e. Grouper (Lapu-Lapu) at Php 234.91 per kilogram, down by 4.63 percent from Php 246.31 per kilogram. (Table 1)
