The Civil Registration and Vital Statistics Decade (CRVS) Symposium and Quiz was successfully held at the Municipal Community Center in Burauen, Leyte on 18 March 2024 through the collaborative effort of the Municipal Government and Local Civil Registry Office of Burauen, Leyte, Philippine Statistics Authority (PSA) Regional Statistical Services Office VIII (RSSO 8) and PSA Leyte.  

Municipal Mayor, Hon. Juanito E. Renomeron warmly welcomed all the participants and thanked PSA for the comprehensive and inclusive event that bolster the knowledge of the youth.

The CRVS modules were presented by PSA RSSO 8 Regional Director, Wilma A. Perante covering the Concepts and Procedures on Civil Registration, Laws Related to Civil Registration; Municipal Civil Registrar of Burauen, Leyte, Dover D. Conde discussed Court Decrees, Legal Instruments, RA 9048, RA 10172 and Supplemental Report and the CRIS Training; and PSA Leyte Administrative Officer I, Ms. Vianney Marie D. Almia on Vital Statistics.  Quiz was administered among participating high school students in Burauen, Leyte and they were accompanied by their respective coaches.

After the Easy, Moderate and Difficult rounds, the following emerged as the winning groups of the CRVS Quiz, to wit:

1st Place- Burauen National High School

2nd Place 
Burauen Comprehensive National High School
Coach : Mrs. Natividad Destajo

3rd Place
Hibunauan National High School
Coach. Mr Kerwin Cayubit

All winners and their coaches received Cash Prizes and Certificates of Recognition.
