The Philippine Statistics Authority (PSA) Southern Leyte, in collaboration with the Association of Civil Registrars of Southern Leyte (ACReSL), is excited to announce the upcoming celebration of the 35th Civil Registration Month (CRM) this February. With the theme “Building a Resilient, Agile, and Future-Fit Civil Registration and Vital Statistics System,” this month-long event underscores the importance of a robust civil registration system in the country.

In line with this year’s theme, PSA Southern Leyte and ACReSL have prepared a series of activities designed to raise awareness about civil registration and highlight the vital role it plays in governance, development, and service delivery. Key activities planned for the celebration include:

• Hanging of Streamers - Municipal and City halls across all 19 municipalities in the province will display streamers to mark the occasion and promote awareness of CRM.
• Official Launch - The celebration will kick off with an official launching event to be held at
  Hinunangan and Silago, Southern Leyte. This event will introduce the theme and provide an overview of the activities planned for the month.
• Poster Making Contest - Engaging junior and senior high school students, this contest will focus on creatively interpreting the theme of this year’s CRM.
• Coastal Clean-Up - A coastal clean-up will be organized as part of the month’s activities.
• Press Conference - A press conference will be held to discuss the vital statistics of Southern Leyte, highlighting key insights and trends in the province’s demographic data.
• Awards Ceremony - To recognize excellence in civil registration practices, the “Best       Municipal Registrar” award will be conferred to outstanding municipal registrars who have demonstrated exemplary service in their field.
