In  continued  effort  to  promote  data-driven  governance and  inclusive local development, PSA Southern Leyte has conducted its first comprehensive review and presentation of the preliminary results of the latest Community-Based Monitoring System (CBMS) data. The presentation aims to validate the data gathered from the 2024 CBMS conducted in July 2024. In addition, the review would ensure the quality of the data that would support evidence-based decision making at the grassroots level.

The CBMS data review and presentation of preliminary results, conducted on 17 June 2025, covered key indicators in areas such as poverty, health, education, and access to basic services. This initiative involved collaboration with the local government unit of Sogod, barangay chairmen, and sectoral partners to ensure the integrity and applicability of the data.

“CBMS allows us to see the real situation on the ground. With this review, we can identify gaps, prioritize interventions, and ensure that no community is left behind,” said Municipal Administrator Reynaldo A. Golo of LGU Sogod.

The findings from the CBMS review will be useful in the planning and implementation of local development programs, poverty alleviation strategies, and targeted social protection measures.

Key highlights from the data include:

  • “An increase in access to electricity among households”

  • “An increase in access to internet among households”

  • “An improved basic sanitation (toilet facility) among households”

  • “An improved access to potable water in previously underserved communities”

A data turnover activity will soon follow after all municipalities and lone city in the province will have its data review and presentation of preliminary results.

The CBMS initiative is part of a broader commitment to achieving the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) by ensuring that data guides development planning and resource allocation at the local level.

About CBMS:
