Through its PhilSys Registration Team, PSA Leyte's Rehistro Bulilit Campaign reaches the residents of Brgy. 74-Lower Nulatula in Tacloban City and the Gawad Kalinga Village in Brgy. Pago, Tanauan, Leyte. This effort is made possible with strong support from the Local Government Units (LGUs) and their Sangguniang Barangay counterparts.
24 & 25 October 2024 – TACLOBAN CITY AND TANAUAN, LEYTE. As part of a strengthened initiative for the National ID System, the Philippine Statistics Authority – Leyte Provincial Statistical Office (PSA Leyte) launched its National ID Rehistro Bulilit campaign, providing National ID services to residents of Barangay 74-Lower Nulatula in Tacloban City and Gawad Kalinga (GK) Village in Barangay Pago, Tanauan, Leyte on successive dates of October 24 and 25, 2024. This initiative is a continuation of the nationwide rollout of National ID Registration and ePhilID Issuance services in Leyte province, which began on February 13, 2024, for children aged 1 to 4 years. This underscores the commitment to inclusivity.
The registration team, led by the Registration Center Supervisor (RCS), recorded 44 registered individuals in Brgy. 74, Tacloban City, and 50 in GK Village, Brgy. Pago, Tanauan during this consecutive launch. Among those registered, 66 were children aged 1 to 4 years old. The registration process requires a registered parent or guardian to accompany the child and present supporting documents, including the child’s full name, date and place of birth, and the names of the parents.
The event was meaningful for both local communities. In this regard, PSA Leyte, alongside its PhilSys Registration Team and with the support of Local Government Units (LGUs) and other stakeholders, acknowledged the importance of simplifying and enhancing the registration process for children and their families. They created a vibrant and engaging registration atmosphere, complete with balloons, party bags, games, and activities to encourage participation and help manage any tantrums during the registration.
Prior to registration, an information session was held for parents and guardians to emphasize the importance of registering children aged 1 to 4 years for the National ID System. The session outlined the benefits and uses of the ID, while also addressing concerns regarding unauthorized printing or misuse of Digital IDs. Additionally, it provided details about the registration process and the necessary documents.
The PSA's initiatives, including the Rehistro Bulilit campaign, highlight its dedication to making the National ID System accessible and inclusive for all Filipinos, regardless of age or location. By facilitating early registration for children, the PSA seeks to ensure that every Filipino has a reliable and valid form of identification to access essential services and benefits.
