The Philippine Statistics Authority (PSA) - Leyte Provincial Statistical Office OMW ENTERPOISES (PSO) conducts the 2023 nUpdating of the List of Establishments (ULE) by door-to-door canvassing of establishments to update the status of operation and characteristics of those establishments in the List of Establishments (LE) as of 31 March 2023. This is also to capture and determine Photos taken during the 2023 ULE and 2022 CAF for Non-Households Provinciar Level Training Field Proctice the characteristics of "new" establishments or those not yet in the LE for inclusion in the register.

The 2023 ULE aims to provide an updated and reliable sampling frame for the censuses and surveys of establishments and enterprises. Likewise, it will be a direct source of information on annual employment statistics and industry concentration ratios. Furthermore, the data from LE are used as inputs by the govemment in the formulation of policies and programs, monitoring and analyzing trade and industry development in the province. The private sector also uses the LE statistics as guide in the preparation of marketing plans and strategies.

A rider to this endeavor is the distribution and collection of 2022 Census of Agriculture and Fisheries (CAF) questionnaires for non-household units. The CAF is geared towards the compilation of basic information on the agricultural and fishery sectors in the province. Its data serve as important basis of policies, plans and programs for the country's socio-economic development. It also provides sampling frames for the conduct of periodic agricultural and fishery surveys. Moreover, structural characteristics will be determined for these sectors since data on agricultural, aquaculture, and fishery facilities in the barangays will be collected.

The field operations started on 02 May 2023 and expected to end on 31 July 2023. All cities and municipalities of the province of Leyte will be covered which consists of 1,034 ULE barangays or the barangays with listed establishments and 607 non-ULE barangays or the barangays without listed establishments.

The conduct of ULE is authorized by Republic Act No. 10625. Section 26 stipulates that all data furnished by the respondents shall be kept confidential in which data released are in the form of summaries with no reference to an individual, corporation, association, partnership, institution, or business enterprise. Trained Statistical Researchers and Team Supervisors are involved in the field operation.

PSA Leyte would like to enjoin the public to support the 2023 ULE and 2022 CAF for non-households to ensure the success of the conduct of the activities.
