PSA Leyte, through its PhilSys Registration Team and in coordination with the Local Government Unit (LGU) of Tabontabon along with its Sangguniang Barangay counterparts, working at full force during the Municipal Launching of the National ID Rehistro Bulilit Campaign in the Gymnasium of Tabontabon, Leyte.
19 October 2024 – TABONTABON, LEYTE. Following the successful Provincial Launching in DSWD – FO VIII’s Center and Residential Care Facilities in Pawing, Palo, Leyte, and in coordination with the Local Government Unit (LGU) of Tabontabon, including its Sangguniang Barangay counterparts, the National ID Rehistro Bulilit Campaign extended its launching on the municipal level in Tabontabon, Leyte last 19 October 2024. This initiative is a follow-through of the nationwide rollout for National ID Registration and ePhilID Issuance services in the Leyte province last 13 February 2024 for children aged 1 to 4 years old, thus emphasizing its commitment to inclusivity.
The team recorded 200 registered individuals during this launching, of which 122 were children belonging to the 1-to-4-year-old age bracket. The process involves a registered parent/guardian accompanying the child during the registration to present supporting documents of the child containing his/her complete name, date and place of birth, and the complete names of the parents. Following that, demographic information and a front-facing photograph of the child shall be collected, and authentication is performed by scanning biometric details of the child's parent or accompanying guardian linking the PhilSys Number (PSN).
The PSA Leyte Provincial Statistical Office, through its PhilSys Registration Team and with the help of the LGUs and other stakeholders, recognized the importance of making the registration process simple and convenient for children and their families by establishing a colorful registration booth with games and activities for children to encourage participation.
Before registration, an information session for parents and guardians was conducted to stress the importance of registering children aged 1 to 4 years old for the National ID System, outlining the benefits and uses of the ID, while also addressing concerns about unauthorized printing or misuse of Digital IDs. The session also explained the registration process and required documents.
Overall, the PSA's efforts, including the Rehistro Bulilit campaign demonstrates its commitment to making the National ID System accessible and inclusive for all Filipinos, regardless of age or location. By registering children at an early age, the PSA aims to ensure that all Filipinos have a valid and reliable proof of identity to access essential services and benefits.
