Newly Elected Mayor Joins PSA in Reviewing Preliminary Results of the 2024 CBMS

The Philippine Statistics Authority (PSA), in partnership with local government units, successfully conducted the Preliminary Results Presentation and Data Review of the 2024 Community-Based Monitoring System (CBMS) in San Ricardo, Southern Leyte in the morning of 08 July 2025 marking a pivotal step toward evidence-based governance under new local leadership while in the afternoon the same activity was held in Pintuyan, Southern Leyte.
The activity gathered barangay chairmen, planning officers, department heads, and the newly elected mayor of San Ricardo. The new mayor was given an in-depth look at the CBMS data, which captures comprehensive, community-level information on demographics, poverty, education, health, and access to basic services.
During the session, the PSA presented initial findings, highlighting key developmental indicators and socio-economic profiles derived from the household census. These data will serve as critical inputs for formulating responsive programs and updating local development and investment plans.
In her remarks, Mayor Femelyn Domingo, emphasized the importance of empowering local governments with accurate and timely data: “CBMS equips our leaders with community-level statistics essential for inclusive policy-making. It gives me the opportunity to anchor my term on data-informed decisions.”
The newly elected mayor expressed appreciation for the initiative and committed to using CBMS data to target interventions and improve the delivery of basic services in the municipality. Meanwhile, Municipal Planning and Development Coordinator Moncher Bardos expressed his continued appreciation of the partnership between PSA and LGU Pintuyan in providing data for an evidence-based plans and programs.
The CBMS rollout is in line with Republic Act No. 11315, institutionalizing the Community-Based Monitoring System to foster inclusive development and reduce local poverty through targeted planning. This data review is one of several activities leading to the official release of full CBMS results scheduled on 29 July 2025.
