The Philippine Statistics Authority (PSA) – Biliran announces the start of the conduct of the 2024 Census on Population and Community-Based Monitoring System (2024 POPCEN-CBMS) today, 15 July.
The general objective of the 2024 POPCEN-CBMS is to provide government executives, policy and decision makers, and planners with updated population and housing data in all barangays nationwide and to ensure that social registries of national government agencies (NGAs) and local government units (LGUs) are comprehensive and updated for evidence-based project development and program implementation.
Through Proclamation No. 627 series of 2024, President Ferdinand R. Marcos Jr. has declared July 2024 as “National Census and Community-Based Monitoring System Month”. In this proclamation, all citizens and residents of the Philippines are encouraged to cooperate with the PSA and its census enumerators in the conduct of the 2024 POPCEN-CBMS by providing truthful and complete information in response to census questions subject to existing laws, rules and regulations.
In Biliran Province, a total of 168 field personnel were employed for the undertaking. This includes 137 enumerators who will conduct household data collection and geotagging, and 23 team supervisors and 8 census area supervisors who will conduct field supervision.
In line with this, PSA enjoins the LGUs, NGAs, other stakeholders, and the general public to participate in this undertaking by providing accurate and complete information to the authorized data collectors of PSA. The information collected shall be treated with utmost confidentiality as mandated under Section 26 (Confidentiality of Information) of Republic Act No. 10625.
