The Philippine Statistics Authority (PSA) – Northern Samar Provincial Statistical Office is pleased to announce the commencement of the 2024 Annual Survey of Philippine Business and Industry (ASPBI) and the Survey on Information and Communication Technology (SICT), which are set to officially begin on 28 April 2025.
The ASPBI is one of the designated statistical activities of the PSA, generates essential statistics for economic planning and analysis. All information collected in the 2024 ASPBI shall refer to the period from January to December 2024 for establishments operating on a fiscal year basis.
Specifically, the survey results will be used in constructing national and regional income accounts, formulating and monitoring plans/policies, determining and comparing regional economic structures and performances, analyzing economic performance of Micro, Small, and Medium Enterprises (MSMEs), conducting market research and feasibility studies, and updating the sampling frame for establishment-based surveys.
There are three (3) versions of the questionnaire available: (1) an online version accessible at https://aspbi.psa.gov.ph, (2) electronic copies in fillable PDF or Excel format which can be sent to the email addresses of the sample establishments, and (3) printed questionnaires distributed by PSA personnel.
Whereas, SICT as rider survey, aims to collect data on the availability, distribution, and utilization of information and communication technology (ICT) among establishments. This includes data on computer usage, internet connectivity, web presence, and ICT-related expenses, which are vital in guiding the country’s digital transformation and innovation efforts.
To ensure readiness for the upcoming enumeration and adherence to PSA's survey protocols, the office conducted the Third Level Training on 2024 ASPBI & SICT from 21-24 April 2025, at PSA Catarman, Training Room. Moreover, the training was attended by hired data collectors to prepare with the necessary knowledge and skills for effective and accurate field enumeration.
Field personnel from PSA Northern Samar will visit selected sample establishments across the province. The cooperation of business owners and managers is crucial to the success of these surveys.
