The Philippine Statistics Authority (PSA) Southern Leyte concluded the 35th Civil Registration Month (CRM) with a grand closing program held on February 27, 2025, at the Ataviado Hall, SJC, Maasin City. The event recognized and honored the outstanding contributions of Local Civil Registrars (LCRs) in the province, with a series of awards highlighting excellence and commitment to civil registration services.
The program kicked off with a warm welcome message from PSA Southern Leyte's Chief Statistical Specialist (CSS) Llevado, followed by the presentation of the 2025 Civil Registry Office Audit Report. This report outlined the results of the random checks and audit conducted on Local Civil Registration Offices (LCROs) throughout the province.
An Audiovisual Presentation (AVP) showcasing the accomplishments of the province’s Civil Registration Office in 2024 further underscored the significant strides made in the field. Afterward, the much-awaited awards ceremony recognized exemplary LCRs for their contributions to improving civil registration services in Southern Leyte.

Among the awardees, Armeda S. Maitem, Municipal Civil Registrar of Macrohon, received the prestigious 2024 Excellence in Civil Registration and Vital Statistics (CRVS) Award. In her heartfelt acceptance speech, she shared her passion for civil registration, emphasizing that although their work is often overlooked, it is vital for society. She expressed her commitment to educating others about the importance of CRVS and passing on a legacy that will highlight its significance in every individual’s life.
In addition to the award presentations, the program also showcased the notable accomplishments of the 35th Civil Registration Month, which further demonstrated the dedication and hard work of those involved in the civil registration process in Southern Leyte.
