In line with the 35th Civil Registration Month (CRM) celebration this February, the Philippine Statistics Authority – Southern Leyte (PSA-SL) successfully conducted a Media Forum with the theme, “Building a Resilient, Agile, and Future-fit Civil Registration and Vital Statistics System,” today, February 18, 2025

The forum was actively participated in by representatives from Philippine Information Agency (PIA) - Southern Leyte, Radyo Pilipinas – Sogod, DYDM, and Southern Leyte Times. This engagement aimed to strengthen public awareness and media involvement in promoting the significance of civil registration and vital statistics (CRVS), and also PSA’s programs and initiatives.

Chief Statistical Specialist Eutemio A. Llevado Jr. delivered the welcome remarks, acknowledging the vital role of media in disseminating information. He emphasized the importance of civil registration and how this year’s CRM theme aligns with the government’s commitment to improving CRVS systems.

The forum featured key statistical updates from PSA-SL specialists:

  •     Supervising Statistical Specialist Elissa P. Carbonilla presented the 2023 Economic Performance of Southern Leyte and the 2023 Poverty Situation in the province.

  •      Statistical Specialist II Karrel Ann E. Lapac discussed the 2022 Community-Based Monitoring System (CBMS) Available Data.

  •     CSS Llevado provided an overview of the 2024 Civil Registration and Vital Statistics of Southern Leyte and various CRM activities lined up for the celebration.
