The Philippine Statistics Authority – Samar Provincial Statistical Office (PSA Samar) participated in an inter-agency activity organized by the 46th Infantry Battalion, Philippine Army, aimed at assisting Former Rebels (FRs) with the delayed registration of birth under the Birth Registration Assistance Project (BRAP). The activity was conducted on July 16 to 19, 2025, at Barangay Literon, Calbiga, Samar.
A total of 14 Former Rebels from various municipalities in Samar including Villareal, Calbiga, and Jiabong benefited from the initiative. The PSA Samar provided onsite services and technical support for the timely processing of delayed birth registrations as part of its commitment to inclusive and accessible civil registration services.
The activity was spearheaded by the 46th Infantry Battalion under the leadership of Commander Officer LTC Marvin A. Inocencio, with operational assistance from Sergeant Edmon S. Berriber and Second Lieutenant Glazel Mae T. Guiñez.
This inter-agency activity highlights the continuing partnership between the PSA and the security sector in support of peacebuilding and reintegration initiatives. By enabling Former Rebels to secure legal identity documents, the government reinforces their access to social and economic opportunities vital for a more stable and productive return to civilian life.
