National ID Registration in observance of the World Day Against Child Labor at Samar Provincial Convention Center, Catbalogan City on 10 June 2025

The Philippine Statistics Authority (PSA) – Samar joined the Department of Labor and Employment (DOLE) – Samar Field Office in the observance of the World Day Against Child Labor through its participation in the Information and Service Caravan at Samar Provincial Convention Center, Catbalogan City on 10 June 2025.

The event aimed to raise awareness on the issue of child labor and deliver essential services to profiled child laborers and their families. It also supported the ratification of ILO Convention No. 138 on the Minimum Age for Employment and the implementation of ILO Convention No. 182 on the Worst Forms of Child Labor, in line with the Durban Call to Action for strengthened protection and collaboration. PSA Samar’s participation in this initiative highlights its ongoing commitment to inclusive civil registration and its support for government efforts to empower vulnerable sectors, especially children by enabling access to identification and essential public services.

As part of the service caravan, PSA Samar deployed personnel who facilitated National ID registration services, successfully registering 17 individuals aged 5 years old and above and 4 individuals aged 0 to 4 years old. In addition, the team conducted an Information Campaign to raise awareness on the acceptance of various formats of the National ID, including the PVC card, paper form, and digital ID.
