PSA-LEYTE INTENSIFIES PHILSYS REGISTRATION IN SCHOOLS

The Philippine Statisctics Authority (PSA) Leyte intensifies the implementation of the Philipine Identidication System (PhilSys) through School-Based Registration in the Province of Leyte and Tacloban City. This nationwide strategy bring the PhilSys Service Closer to the remaining unregistered five (5) years old and above individuals in the country. Hired PhilSys personnel facilitated the coordination in schools to schedule conducted of the School-based registration through assistance of the concerned local Government Unit (LGU) particularly the Office of the Local Civil Registration.

Meanwhile the issuance and delivery of ePhilID is continuosly being undertaken by ePhilID personnel through door and plaza type strategy. The printed ePhilID is the digital version of ePhilID which is printed on a piece of paper and has the same functionality of the PhilID. The Philippine Postal Corporation has continuosly doing delivery of the PhilID to declare address of the registrants during PhilSys Step 2 Registration.

As of 15 April 2023 PSA- Leyte was able to register 37,485 Filipino Citizens age five (5) years old and over in Leyte and Tacloban City. This is 87.3 percent of the total target. On the other hand there were 181,484 delivered ePhilIDs under Mode 2, or 166.98 percent from 108,900 January to March ePhilID target to the provinnce.
