February 12, 2025 – The Philippine Statistics Authority (PSA) Southern Leyte Provincial Office continued to advance digital transformation by introducing the National ID Authentication Services (NIDAS) to the local government units in the province. As part of this initiative, PSA Southern Leyte conducted a coordination meeting with the local government unit (LGU) of Maasin City, making it one of the first LGUs to start the onboarding process of the National ID system.

The coordination meeting was held at the City Mayor’s Office attended key officials, including City Administrator-Designate and City Civil Registrar Ms. Jenny F. Ang, unit heads, and their respective information technology personnel. Chief Statistical Specialist Eutemio A. Llevado Jr. led the discussion, together with PSA’s National ID personnel. In addition, Registration Officer III Marife Molon of PSA Regional Statistical Services Office 8 participated virtually together with the representatives from the PhilSys Registry Office, to provide in-depth discussion on the technical aspect of the integration process.

NIDAS is designed to enhance identity verification by offering greater efficiency, convenience, and security for both government agencies and private sector transactions. 

Through advanced authentication technology and robust security protocols, NIDAS ensures a seamless and accurate identity authentication process, strengthening the reliability of public service delivery.

PSA encourages all government institutions to embrace this innovative solution to improve service efficiency and security. “We are confident that this collaboration will contribute to our shared goal of delivering accessible, reliable, and secure public services to all Filipinos”, PSA stated.

The successful rollout of NIDAS in LGU Maasin City marks a major milestone in advancing digital governance and reinforcing the National ID system as a key tool for secure and efficient public service transactions.
