The Philippine Statistics Authority (PSA) - Biliran announces the conduct of the April 2025 Labor Force Survey (LFS). The LFS is a nationwide survey of households conducted by PSA to gather data on the demographic and socio-economic characteristics of the population. It aims to measure the distribution of household population 15 years old and over by employment status, to determine various employment characteristics such as industry, class of worker, nature of employment and basis of payment. Results of the survey shall serve as basis for planning, formulation of policies, and implementing programs to create gainful employment, and bolster livelihood opportunities for the Filipinos.

The April 2025 LFS includes rider questions on tourism. These rider questions aims to expand information gathered on tourism employment as reported to the Philippine Tourism Satellite Accounts (PTSA). Specifically, it aims to a) identify employment in other tourism-related enterprises; b) gather information on tourism employment on a local level; and c) determine employment variables such as sex, age, education level, occupation, and employment status. 

The data collection period of the April 2025 LFS started on 08 April and will end on 30 April 2025. A total of seven (7) Statistical Researchers (SRs) were trained with needed skills and training for the field data collection during the Provincial Level Training on 01 to 04 April at PSA Biliran Training Room.

A total of 389 sample households were systematically and randomly selected for the Province of Biliran. The information collected shall be treated with utmost confidentiality as mandated under Section 26 (Confidentiality of Information) of Republic Act No. 10625.
