TACLOBAN CITY — The Philippine Statistics Authority - Leyte successfully conducted its Third Level Training on Field Operations and Manual Processing for the 2024 Annual Survey of Philippine Business and Industry (ASPBI) and the 2024 Survey on Information and Communication Technology (SICT) last 21–25 April 2025, at the Leyte Provincial Statistical Office, Tacloban City.

The Annual Survey of Philippine Business and Industry (ASPBI), one of the designated statistical activities of the Philippine Statistics Authority (PSA), generates essential statistics for economic planning and analysis. It is specifically designed to collect and generate information on the levels, structure, performance, and trends of economic activities of the country. The 2024 ASPBI is the 51st in a series of annual surveys of establishments in the country, with a reference period from January to December 2024.

Meanwhile, 2024 Survey on Information and Communication Technology (SICT), as a rider survey, will collect information on the availability, distribution, and access/utilization of ICT among establishments in the country. Specifically, the results will be used for assessment and monitoring the progress of ICT in the country.

The comprehensive five-day training equipped field personnel with the necessary knowledge and skills for the effective implementation of the two major nationwide surveys. The sessions covered survey concepts, data collection procedures, and operational guidelines to ensure the quality and timeliness of the data gathered. Following the training, PSA-Leyte officially begins the distribution of survey questionnaires today, 28 April 2025. The survey operations are expected to end on 30 June 2025. Field personnels will be visiting selected business establishments across the province to collect vital data that will aid in shaping sound economic and technological policies.

PSA-Leyte encourages all sample establishments to extend their full support and cooperation to the survey personnel to ensure the success of this undertaking.
