The Philippine Statistics Authority, Leyte Provincial Statistical Office is currently conducting the May 2023 Labor Force Survey (LFS) in sampled cities/municipalities and barangays in Leyte and Tacloban City. The data collection started last 8 May 2023 and expected to end on 26 May 2023. 

The LFS is a nationwide monthly survey which gathers data on the economic activities of the households, which data on labor force and its characteristics will be collected. Further, it aims to provide a quantitative framework and will be the basis of the Government for its social and economic development planning and decision making.

Approximately 193 households were selected as samples province-wide. These samples were distributed in two (2) domains, separate for Leyte and Tacloban City. The identified sample households will be enumerated using Computer Aided Data Collection System (CADaCS).

Moreover, a total of four (4) trained Statistical Researchers were deployed by PSA Leyte for this undertaking. The Office ensures that the hired personnel are equipped with standard personal protective equipment such as face mask, alcohol and will follow strict physical distancing during conduct of interview. 

PSA Leyte appeals to the public to cooperate and support the conduct of the said survey. The Office assured that data gathered from survey respondents will be treated with utmost confidentiality as provided for in Section 26 of RA10625. Data gathered from this survey will be disseminated in statistical summaries without reference to any individual or household.
