Mondragon, Northern Samar - The Philippine Statistics Authority (PSA) – Northern Samar Provincial Statistical Office successfully conducted a coordination meeting with the Local Government Unit (LGU) of Mondragon on June 9, 2025, at the Sangguniang Bayan Hall, Municipal Building, Mondragon, Northern Samar. The meeting aimed to strengthen collaboration between PSA and LGU Mondragon for the implementation of the National ID Authentication Services, which support secure and efficient identity verification for public service delivery.

Information Officer I Nikka Pajarito opened the session and introduced the attending NID personnel, including RO II and NID Provincial Focal Lany Lyn B. Magdaraog. Joining virtually were Regional NID Focal/RO III Marife R. Molon and representatives from PSA’s GSUCD. Also present were department heads and representatives of LGU Mondragon: Municipal Planning and Development Office (MPDO), Human Resources Management Office (HRMO), Municipal Engineering Office (MEO), Municipal Social Welfare and Development Office, Local Civil Registry Office (LCRO), Business Permits and Licensing Office (BPLO), and the Municipal Internal Audit Service Office (MIASO).

The first discussion, entails the features, formats, and official advisories related to the National ID, emphasizing its role in service access and identity validation which was presented by Info. Officer I Pajarito.

RO II Magdaraog introduced the National ID Check platform, which allows the general public to verify National IDs. Meanwhile, the GSUCD personnel discussed and 
demonstrated the National ID Authentication Services, including the onboarding process and system integration to LGU office.
An open forum followed, where LGU participants raised questions about the system. All concerns were addressed by PSA-NID representatives. RO III Molon extended her appreciation to LGU Mondragon for their active participation and reiterated the PSA’s full support from provincial to central offices for the successful implementation of the authentication services. She assured the LGU of continued assistance throughout the onboarding process.

Representing Honorable Mayor Madera, OIC-HRMO De Guia expressed appreciation for the initiative and noted that while the LGU currently does not have a verification system, there are plans to develop one in the future. He also requested a copy of the onboarding requirements, particularly for the Local Civil Registry Office (LCRO), which is expected to be a primary user of the authentication services.

The PSA looks forward to working closely with LGU Mondragon and other local government units to advance the use of the National ID system in delivering efficient and secure public services through the adoption of authentication services.
