Provincial Department of Health Office (PDOHO) – The Philippine Statistics Authority (PSA) – Northern Samar Provincial Statistical Office conducted a coordination meeting with the Provincial DOH Officer, Dr. Rommel C. Francisco and his staff, held on 05 May 2025 at the PDOH Office.

The meeting was formally opened by Chief Statistical Specialist Maria Theresa G. Elizalde, who emphasized the importance of streamlining government services through the integration of the National ID system. She highlighted how the National ID could serve as a tool for enhancing the efficiency of service delivery and improving the accuracy of authentication to clients.

Afterwards, Information Officer I Nikka P. Pajarito provided a quick overview of the features and benefits of the National ID, as well as the procedures for ID issuance. Following this, Registration Officer II Lany Lyn Magdaraog & ISA I Allen Jay Vista presented the National ID authentication services, including the onboarding process and necessary requirements.

Moreover, Dr. Rommel C. Francisco, expressed his positive support for the initiative. He acknowledged the potential of the National ID and its authentication services to simplify access to patient records, thus, enhancing the overall efficiency of healthcare delivery.

However, Dr. Francisco raised concern about the role of the Data Protection Officer (DPO), which is currently designated only at the regional level. As a result, the onboarding registration and selection of tier level was temporarily suspended until these concerns, particularly regarding data protection protocols are properly addressed.
Still, the PDOHO remains optimistic about the long-term benefits of the National ID system. Dr. Francisco assured the PSA that the department's personnel would be encouraged to register for the National ID.

Registration Officer III Marife R. Molon concluded the meeting by expressing her gratitude to PSA Northern Samar and PDOHO for the collaborative efforts. She emphasized that the meeting is just an initial step in showcasing the critical role of National ID integration in improving government services and healthcare accessibility.
