The Philippine Statistics Authority (PSA) Northern Samar Provincial Statistical Office continues its campaign for the registration of national ID, as mandated in Republic Act (RA) 11055, which aims to establish a single identification system for all Filipinos. As of 31 December 2024, the national ID teams of Northern Samar have registered a total of 593,031 individuals, accounting for 92.78 percent of the target registrants based on the 2020 Census of Population and Housing (CPH).

Out of the 24 municipalities in Northern Samar, seven (7) have surpassed or met the target number of registrants and these are Lapinig, Rosario, San Jose, San Vicente, Silvino Lobos, Victoria, and Lope de Vega. Meanwhile, the remaining municipalities are close to achieving the 100 percent target.
There are various initiatives that were made by PSA Northern Samar to be able to reach and surpass such targets including the school-based registration, on-wheels registration, setting-up registrations on boat, establishment registrations or co-locations requested by agencies, and registration of children 0-4 years old. National ID field personnel were stationed in strategic locations within each municipality, making the registration process accessible to a wide range of residents.

The PSA Northern Samar extends its gratitude to all registrants and stakeholders for their support in this initiative. Efforts to reach the remaining target population will continue, with mobile registration services, partnerships with local government units, and extensive community outreach activities aimed at achieving 100 percent coverage.
The national ID system is envisioned to enhance the delivery of services, promote transparency, and streamline transactions for all Filipinos. Thus, as we continue the national ID registration efforts and work toward achieving this year’s updated target, we encourage everyone to actively participate in the program. Whether through registration centers or mobile services, every individual’s cooperation is vital to the success of this initiative. #
