PRESS RELEASE - Leyte’s inflation rate increases at 1.9 percent in February 2021

The inflation rate of Leyte increased at 1.9 percent in February 2021, from 0.7 percent in the previous month. Moreover, an increase was recorded in the Region during the reference month, from 1.7 percent in January 2021 to 2.8 percent in February 2021. The inflation rate of Leyte was lower than the region’s rate since February last year.

The inflation rate of Leyte remained at 1.9 percent in January 2021. On the other hand, a decrease was recorded in the Region during the reference month, from 2.4 percent in December 2020 to 2.2 percent in January 2021 . In comparison, the inflation rate of Leyte was lower than the region’s rate during the reference month.

The inflation rate of Leyte rose by 0.6 percentage point, from 1.3 percent in November 2020 to 1.9 percent in December 2020. The same increase was recorded in the Region during the reference month, from 1.8 percent in November 2020 to 2.4 percent. In comparison, the inflation rate of Leyte was lower than the region’s rate during the reference month.

PRESS RELEASE: Leyte’s inflation rate sustains at 1.3 percent in November 2020

Leyte sustained again its inflation rate at 1.3 percent in November 2020. Meanwhile, the region’s inflation rate slightly decreased by 0.1 percentage point from 1.9 percent in October 2020 to 1.8 percent during the reference month. In comparison, the inflation rate of Leyte was lower than the region’s rate during the reference month. Commodity groups that reported positive inflation rate (IR) in Leyte are: Alcoholic beverages and tobacco (5.2 percent); Restaurant and Miscellaneous Goods and Services (2.2 percent); Furnishings, Household Equipment and Routine Maintenance of the House (2.1 percent); Food and Non-alcoholic Beverages (2.0 percent); Clothing and Footwear (0.5 percent); Health (1.1 percent); and Transport (0.5 percent).

Leyte sustained again its inflation rate at 1.3 percent in October 2020. Meanwhile, the region’s inflation rate slightly increased by 0.1 percentage point from 1.8 percent in September 2020 to 1.9 percent during the reference month. In comparison, the inflation rate of Leyte was lower than the region’s rate during the reference month. Nine (9) major commodity groups contributed to the 1.3 percent overall inflation rate (IR) in Leyte. This includes Alcoholic beverages and tobacco (5.0 percent); Restaurant and miscellaneous goods and services (2.2 percent); Furnishings, household equipment and routine maintenance of the house (2.0 percent); Food and non-alcoholic beverages (1.4 percent); Housing, water, electricity, gas and other fuels (1.3 percent); Clothing and Footwear (1.3 percent); Health (1.1 percent); and Transport (0.4 percent).
