Regional Statistics Committee (RSC)-8 holds first quarterly meeting for 2018

The Regional Statistics Committee 8 (RSC-8) held their first quarter meeting for CY 2018 last 15 February 2018 at Zamal Hall, National Economic and Development Authority Regional Office 8 (NEDA-8), Palo, Leyte. It was attended by 15 RSC members from regional line agencies, private sector, and academe. RSC-8 Chairperson and NEDA Regional Director Bonifacio G. Uy presided the meeting.

First business of the meeting was the presentation of the Policy Agenda of RSC – 8 for 2018 by Dir. Wilma A. Perante of PSA – RSSO 8. Minor revisions were suggested but the committee, through a resolution, approved and adopted the Policy Agenda for 2018.

Ms. Nikki Joy A. Belas, Information Officer I of PSA-RSSO 8, presented the 2018 Updating of the List of Establishments (ULE) which will be conducted from April to July 2018. The RSC - 8 passed a resolution to support and endorse the conduct of the 2018 ULE in the region.

Other agenda items discussed during the meeting for information were: 2010 – 2015 Vital Statistics in Region 8: Births, Deaths and Marriages; 2014-2016 Gross Regional Domestic Expenditure (GRDE) Estimates; 2017 Eastern Visayas Labor and Employment Statistics; 2015-2016 Eastern Visayas Estimated Annual Per Capita Consumption by Commodity; New Generation Currency Banknotes with Enhanced Design; and PSA Board Resolution No. 11, S. 2017, “Approving and Adopting the Official Methodology for the Generation of Provincial Human Development Index”.

The RSC-8 approved 2 resolutions during the meeting. The RSC-8 set to hold their second quarter meeting for CY 2018 in May.
